Physicians want what is best for their patients and there comes a time in the care continuum when hospice care is the best choice for the patient. Healthcare professionals trust Faith and Family Hospice’s care services, whether it is pain management and comfort care, dietary support, emotional and spiritual counseling or the many other services that we provide.
Choosing Faith and Family Hospice: For Healthcare Professionals
Often physicians wait too long to deliver a terminal diagnosis to their patients and refer them to hospice. This conversation is one of the most difficult ones to have. Studies have shown that in actuality, many terminally ill patients are relieved when this conversation takes place—they have known for weeks or months because their own bodies have told them so.
Our care team believes that delaying the hospice referral deprives patients from receiving the many hospice benefits to which patients and families are entitled. Hospice is a Medicare benefit, and as such, hospice care visits, medications, medical supplies and equipment are all provided at no cost to the patient or family.
